Amphora Vessel
Hand-thrown in Limoges by ceramicist Hélène Morin, the Amphora Vessel references the proportions of ancient storage pottery while holding a distinctly contemporary silence. Each piece carries its maker's fingerprints in the clay.
What people say
The weight of this vessel is extraordinary — substantial but not heavy. The ash glaze has an almost mineral quality that changes with the light. Hélène's fingerprints are literally visible in the clay near the base. It arrived wrapped in linen and now sits on my kitchen shelf as the most beautiful thing in the room.
The photographs do not do justice to how present this object is. It creates a kind of stillness in the room around it. I bought the second one for my mother.
The vessel is absolutely stunning — the glaze has incredible depth. Only giving 4 stars because the shipping took 10 days rather than the expected 5. When it arrived, it was worth the wait.
